Q:

I have installed your simple email form module in a Joomla! 1.7 site.  If I use the load position to load into an article the right side border does not display and the form is left justified.  If I load it into a module position, the borders are fine but the form is left justified.  I do know how to use google chrome to edit the css.  What do you think I should do to center this form?  I really like this module.  Nice work.

Anne

A:  You can use your template CSS (Cascading Style Sheet) to alter the appearance of your forms.

The module will add "class=XXX" styles for the <table>, <td>, <th> and <input> tags, which will greatly help you when you revise your template's stylesheet.  If you do a View Page Source you can see which CSS classes have been added for each field. For example, for labels, the following CSS is used: mod_sef_th.  For input fields: mod_sef_td.

In addition, the module generates a unique ID for each field.  For example, for the 2nd instance of a form, the IDs might be:
mod_simpleemailform_field1_2

mod_simpleemailform_field2_2

etc.

You can then login as a Joomla administrator, select Extensions - Template Manager - Edit CSS/template.css

You can enter a new style based on a class as follows:

.mod_sef_td {
    width: 200px;
    height: 80px;
}

You can enter a new style based on an id as follows:

#mod_simpleemailform_field1_2 {
    width: 200px;
    height: 80px;
}
